“Everybody gets so much information all day long that they lose their common sense.” — Gertrude Stein
Do you agree?
Absolutly not. I dont believe everyone loses sense of their common sense when bombarded by galaxies upon galaxies of information. I believe people are so overloaded, they forget the majority of things that they are being bombarded with. The brain can only sustain so much information. The brain can only comprehend so much.
For example, as a Resident Advisor that I used to be in college, we were required to go through 2 weeks of long boring training. Most of it was sitting in a room and listening to huors upon hours of nonsense. Most people just zoomed out, spaced out, or zonked out of listening. And others, they attempted to retain everything. Those people tried so hard, by the end of the day, they forgot the first things they learned. We learn the overload of information as we go through the real process. We learn how to confront conflicts when they happen to use in the real.
So you ask do we lose our common sense? No. I believe common sense is a misconception. I believe alot of people really dont have it. And those that do cant lose it unless they are intoxicated.
So unless you plan on making information a new brand of whiskey and rum, then common sense will always be sensed when needed in any situation.
Thats just what I believe.
